EBEC-FPRS

Mission Statement

At the European Board for Examination and Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (EBEC-FPRS), we are dedicated to enhancing the standards of facial plastic surgery accessible to the public. Established in September 2022, we operate under the auspices of the European Board Examination in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (EBORL-HNS), diligently measuring surgeons’ qualifications against rigorous standards to ensure the highest quality of care.

This annual two-day examination comprises a comprehensive written multiple-choice exam on the first day and a rigorous oral exam on the second day, both subject to meticulous quality control processes. By adhering to these stringent evaluation methods, we uphold the highest professional standards and guarantee excellence in the field.

To complete the certification process, candidates are required to submit at least 100 personal operative case reports in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, performed within a 2-year period. These reports must undergo peer review and be accepted.

To be eligible for this examination, applicants must have achieved specialty board certification in otorhinolaryngology, ensuring a strong foundation of expertise. Furthermore, our exam is an integral component of the fellowship training program offered by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), reinforcing our commitment to shaping the future leaders of facial plastic surgery.

At EBEC-FPRS, we are committed to fostering a community of highly skilled and knowledgeable facial plastic surgeons. By upholding our standards of excellence and collaboration, we strive to elevate the quality of facial plastic surgery, thereby improving the lives of patients and the overall healthcare landscape.
